![]() ![]() I can see why, as a lot of the things on exhibit and different signs are geared towards kids. This zoo is rated one of the top kids zoo's in the nation. I understand there is a tram to take around the zoo and it explains stuff about all of the animals and things that go on at the zoo, but honestly one can walk the zoo without it and find out just as much information. I believe that the zoo is undergoing some big changes in their exhibits and adding new features to better house their animals. The zoo is setup rather weird from other zoos that I have been too (mainly the Oregon Zoo in Portland, OR). The zoo itself looks quite large from the map, but to be honest with you it isn't as large as the map makes it seem. I along with my girlfriend visited this zoo in early October. It's a great place, especially when the weather is nice. I would definitely recommend a visit to our Phoenix Zoo. regular nights, so if you're not a crowd person, I recommend these member's night specifically. ![]() I recommend visiting on members nights, because the crowd is cut in a third vs. Boo at the zoo is alright, but still, all the light shows are super fun for your kids. I sure hope they will dance again for the full 8 minutes or whatever it used to be. The dancing trees used to be my very favorite. Zoolights used to be incredible about 4 years ago, and now is very disappointing, but what can you do but hope someone will restore it's former glory. My last membership renewal, I got tons of extras with it, that made me realize it's value all over again. (food for thought) They usually have renewal bonuses and extra admission tickets to include friends and neighbors if you like. It is slightly more to buy a membership, but then you have unlimited access for a year vs. The overall quality for your money is good, but I would recommed getting a membership to get the maximun amount of money saved. It has grown, changed, and improved immensley over the years. I am an AZ native and have been visiting this zoo since I was a child. ![]()
